He was born on January 30, 1951 in Lviv. 
He received his professional education at the
 Lviv State Institute of 
Applied and Decorative Arts (1968–1973). 
Alfred Maksymenko is a painter, monumentalist, 
and brilliant painter who made a significant 
contribution to the formation of the modern
 Ukrainian art school. Works in the field of
 monumental and easel painting, graphics, 
video art and photography.
